Your bed.

The bed is main bowl, so it should set the tone for the whole room at large. Simply put, your bed should be inviting and relaxing, you can simply use a layered bedding, you can start with soft bed sheets, then a light blanket, you can then throw in a duvet cover with a blanket across the foot of the bed.

You can also use pillows(this depends on the size of the bed)to throw in some relaxation feel. The room color scheme should be considered when selecting the color of the sheets.

Avoid Clusters.

Let your room be free from cluster, this does not make your room soothing.
If you want to achieve a room that has a peaceful feeling, you need it to be free of clusters, only necessary furniture should be introduced.

Choice of furniture to use depends on the color scheme, space and necessity.
That does not mean you cannot use decorations, but keep it minimal, decoration can help create a warm and soft touch in the room but in the situations when they are too much, it can cause clusters as well.
